What about my knee?

Here is its story...

After having supported during 4 long years my left knee, who's been injured 2 times (cruciate ligament) and painful tooooo long..., my right knee felt lonely, and decided that it needed some cares too...

That's the reason why, the 11th september 2008, during the first SBX World Cup of the season, in Argentina, my right knee completely exploded at the moment I landed on the flat of a big jump... I heard a "CRACK" as never heard, and felt a pain like never before (and like never ever I'll feel again in the future...). At this moment, I knew my rigth knee was done...

After Xrays in the Chapelco's "hospital", I just knew that I had a luxation of the rotula but no bones broken. The Argentinen doctors were happy with that and let me go away with crutches.

I knew there was more...

So, I needed an MRI as soon as I landed back in Switzerland.

I hadn't so much pain, so I decided to stay till the end of the Wolrd Cup and fly back home with the team.

Buenos Aires, 15th september 08, 4 days after my shitt flat landing:

                         bad big broken knee

            bad big broken knee

Do you think I broke some stuff...?

=>  Rotula tendon, anterior cruciate ligament, the 2 meniscus and too much cartilage...

After a long and painfull travel back home, I landed in Zürich late at night of the 17th September.

The 18th I made an MRI. The news were bad...

The 19th I met my surgeon. I had broken lots of stuff... too many...

Saturday the 20th September, he operated my knee. Long but successfull surgery! Thanks doc!

Bois-Cerf Clinique, Lausanne, 20th of September, (9 days after this shit flat landing), one time during the 5 hours of surgery

some cartilage missing    some cartilage is missing...

BC At the hospital, some days after surgery. Merci S'rain pour les socks ;)

One big and two little surgeries later.......

here is my "repaired knee" 6 monthes later: march 09       Still looking for my muscles...

Thanks my magic Doc and my magic Physio :)

And then?!? What's next?

14th April: Osteotomy.  4th but LAST surgery.  Let's cross our fingers!

So... Osteotomy is done! A piece of bone has been taken in my hip and replaced in my "broken" tibia, and my rotula tendon has been replaced a bit "higher"... So some metal was necessery to fix these staff, then...

Just have a look...

ok, I think I'm gonna sound at the airport...
